Yesterday, I spent the better part of 4 four hours cleaning out my shed. No, I did not find any Rat pack 45's, but I did find a ton of packratesque accumulations and had to wonder, where does all this come from and why do we keep it around?
I have made several attempts in the past to rid myself of that which I do not use. To become more minimal. But, the fact is, I have always had "stuff". Most of it serves a purpose. The Christmas muffin pan that gets used once a year, maybe once every three years, definitely serves a purpose. But, what feels better. Those Christmas muffins I am capable of making once every few years, or the ability to open a closet/pantry/shed/cabinet door and be able to find what I am looking for without being overwhelmed by the amount of "stuff" that gets in the way?
I feel a New Years Resolution coming on!
Which, btw, is crap. If you want to change something, change it now. Don't wait for a specific date to make things happen!
